Ontario Dorset Wool - worsted weight

Ontario Dorset sheep grew this sturdy wool.  We then dyed it with a variety of natural dyes.  

The yarn is a squishy and warm heavy worsted weight wool.  It is not as soft as our organic wool.  It has more of a rustic quality and is less processed.  You may even find bits of grass!  This yarn is great for outerwear such as hats, mitts, or sweaters as Ontario sheep know Ontario weather!

It has 210 yards/ 192 metres in a 110 gram hank.  The yarn is milled in Canada and dyed in Ontario.

The dyes are all derived from nature, and come from plants or insects.  Where possible, we source local Ontario materials.  When these are not available, we look to Canadian distributors.

Some colour variations between skeins may occur. We recommend alternating skeins if more than one is used in a project.  Although we try to represent the colours as accurately as possible, the picture on your screen may differ slightly from the actual product. 

Products made from this yarn should be hand washed in cool water with wool wash and laid flat to dry.  

This yarn dyes beautifully and the colours are soft and earthy.
